Unbalanced Realm Populations

I have been umming and ahhing whether to bother writing this as it will probably get ignored or someone will point me to another topic. The question I want anserwed is this :

[b]Why Blizzard do you have Faction Change available when server populations become so unbalanced?.

Here's my situation. I play on Dunemaul EU PvP realm. I have played there since the second day wow launched. It has always had a decent population on both horde and alliance. There were a couple of migrations back in the day. They where needed though due to queues. Now during the last 6-12 months the alliance has started to dwindle and dwindle to the extent now where recruiting anyone is a nightmare.

I have been in contact with several other guilds and all are suffering from the same thing. There is a lack of people on the alliance side. Just last month 15-20 people from one of the top guilds all Faction changed to horde. It is getting worse by the day. Everyday I hear of more players doing it. I will give u an example of the problems we have. This happened two days ago.

I was in Dalaran and spammed a recruitment macro. A warlock replied and was quite interested. We talked for awhile and it was going well. I directed him to our forum. Then five minutes later he goes "Im gonna faction change instead". This is how bad it has got.

Now I also have a horde account on Dunemaul. I played that account for over a year and had some fun with a guild there. I have logged onto the horde there and trade chat goes so fast you cannot read it. That's how overpopulated the side is. Horde did have better progress raid wise. They had 5 very very top guilds. I can understand some players faction changing. Alot are doing it just to jump on the back of progress.

My final note is this Blizzard "It is becomming a domino effect and deteriating at a fast rate on Dunemaul". The more good players and guilds that faction change the more decide Alliance is dead and they migrate as well and so on. There is no logic in having 12000 horde and less than 4000 (rough figures I have been told and would reflect the current state of things)

There are a couple of reasons I can seewhy YOU Blizzard are not addressing this situation.

1. You get a payment for everytime someone factions changes. I understand a business needs to make money but I think a balanced approach is needed.

2.You Blizzard are fine with this due to the fact the alliance will get worgans and yr hedging yr bets that many will either start again with that race or faction change back.

There's is no logical reason to try and deicmate one sides population. I really hope it isn;t the money.

Thank you for anyone that listens. I don't expect it to ever be sorted as long as the cash trickles in.

Q u o t e:
There have been several posts like this now and there still hasn't been a blue post.
Well if queries or concerns like this were posted in the dedicated weekly thread for such topics, then at least they would stand more of a chance of possibly being replied to (we are simply unable to answer all queries and concerns expressed in the forums, and indeed one of the primary reasons for these forums is for players to discuss amongst themselves).

Here's this week's dedicated thread for realm status discussions -- each week's thread always has a similar topic and is always a stickied thread in General:

Needless to say perhaps, but we care very much about all our realms and have been carefully and steadily working through those most heavily impacted by population or faction balance issues by using FCMs and realm conversions. We prioritise those realms that need our attention the most, but this doesn't mean we always leave all other realms without thought or consideration.
