Every time you purchase a product you are supporting it. The question to the people who bought the Celestial Steed is:

Do you think that it was right to pay an obscene amount of money for a completely non physical item?
Should these virtual items make x1000 more money than they cost to produce?

If you bought the mount you got ripped off. You got ripped off so bad that I can guarantee that in no other area of life you would agree to pay. What's worse is that you are saying to Blizzard/Activision I am willing to pay an obscene amount of money for an item that can be copied at no cost and have a insignificant production cost.

It's not even your a unique snowflake for buying it. Their is no prestige to owning it after all many others do as well. Your a fool for buying it. Yes of course you can buy it, it's your money but it's like paying £1000 for plastic jewellery.

I'm not fond of the slippery slope argument because it is of course not always true. Blizzard have however made U-turns in philosophy before e.g. pvp realms faction restrictions.I'm not against the sale of virtual goods in WoW, I am however against the insanely high prices people pay for them. I'm sure in many other industries such practice would be illegal (not 100% sure on this).
