New Dwarf racials?! - Blue Tracker

Hey, so i'm rolling a shaman dwarf when cata gets on the market but i took a look at the racials they have and i would say that i am very disappointed. Orc racials are much better although you are making dwarfs able to be shamans, yet you haven't gotten rid of treasure finding... The mace specialization should be redone so that it increases expertise with 1h maces AND axes so that the shamans won't feel forced to use maces if they rather want to use axes. So, to say if you expect people to play dwarf shaman, as i assume you do. you better do something to attract them with the racials. else you'll find dwarf shaman as the weakest shaman class cus there is simply no racials to attract the players. They'll stick with orcs or taurens or they'll go goblin.

Generally we're of the mind that the changes made to racials in WotLK brought a pretty decent balance. But yes it is definitely possible that we might look at some changes to the racials of the existing playable races in Cataclysm or elsewhere in the future. For example, we'd like to make the profession based racials a bit more fun, if we can.

And I quote: "We are reviewing existing racials for Cataclysm, but it is our current opinion that after the changes we already made to racials that there isn't much needing to be changed at the moment. The only possible changes I'm aware of currently may be related to professions -- so, purely for example, maybe Dwarves might get a bonus for the new secondary profession Archaeology. "

Though that's not an actual announcement of course, just a "purely for example" mention. ;-) We'll have to wait and see.

Seeing as the planned Goblins/Worgen racials are miles better than any of the current racials, it was said the current ones were being redone. Now you are saying that the only racials changing is the profession ones? I guess you want to earn even more money at the start of Cata from every min max raider/pvp'er race changing.

We are simply reiterating what was said previously. Check the link I quoted below from last year. It says clearly "We are reviewing existing racials for Cataclysm". But it also says we are pretty happy with the racial changes in WotLK. If you think that over, it's a pretty broad response.
