09/02 Shamans being looked into

I just posted in a thread about Chain Lightning sound, but since this concerns more than just a cosmetic change I thought I'd post it in a separate post as well:

The Shaman class is definitely being looked at. The developers are currently looking into Elemental threat and sustainability (mana efficiency).

We will provide more information as it becomes available to us.

Yeah great, hope that they buff something else too and not just the chain lightining sound..

I think you can count on that.

Tell them we need a CC.

I did that ages ago, but got the reply that not every class is meant to have the same capabilities as every other class, and that Shamans aren't intended to have access to easy crowd control.

Posted it a while back:

I don't think our stance has changed since then unfortunately.

-"eat that u silly mage, and that u silly rogue"
"ughh" "arggh"
- "im sorry, did i just distort time and space?" ;-)

Haha. I love Chain Lightning (especially in combination with Elemental Mastery). (Haven't heard anything about the sound yet.)

Fix WF.
Remove the up to 3 seconds Cooldown. Please.

It's a known issue, don't know if/when it's going to get fixed though.

And by the way... totem UI would rock my enhancement-world.

I totally agree, even though I finally set up my UI so it works ok with all the different totems \o/

Anyway, this is something that is being looked into and there might be changes later on (but no ETA I'm afraid).

Triple posting is more fun than gathering all replies in one post O.o

Edit: FOURTH!!!

Increased number of posts in this thread, so you (we) can keep discussing. Remember to not flame each other even if you might be of a different opinion :)

Can we have a blue response when the changes will occur?

Will we be looked into within a month or do we have to wait longer?

I really hope that some of all the good suggestions will be implemented.

Of course we will post whenever some new changes come up, but I don't have any ETA at all I'm afraid.

Im serious!
How the hell can shaman getting looked into and not paladin?

I dont get it, this is soo blizzard in a nutshell.
So their imba damage is not enough? Now youre thinking about making them more mana effective?
Give paladin some dps buff then, some fu***ng combat system that WORKS, that isnt being purged/dispelled/spellstealed away.
Or better yet, give paladin the ability to "purge" away rogues energy, and warriors rage. Let them get forced to autoattack some and see how long it will take before they leave this stupid game.

Please don't derail this thread with your trolling.

Ommra, I don't know if it's told yet but, the green level 61 quest item called Totem of Lightning is better then the heroic badge reward Totem of the Pulsing Earth.
Is there any way you can inform us if there's any plan for this to change?

Yes there are plans for this to change.

The rest of the patch notes concerning shamans:
Q u o t e:
  • The clearcasting effect from "Elemental Focus" now triggers on all spell critical strikes, rather than a chance on any spell hit.

  • The shaman will no longer generate additional threat when "Unleashed Rage" triggers.

  • The free Lightning spell cast from "Lightning Overload" will now cause reduced threat.

  • "Stoneclaw Totem" now has a 50% chance to stun attackers for 3 sec. when struck.

Can you please keep up the constructive tone from the beginning of the thread (well, the majority of it), it is much easier to gather feedback when you are not using excessive punctuation and/or caps lock.

I have now received updated information about this, and in order to clarify; Windfury Weapon does actually have a 3 seconds cooldown on its proc and it is intended. So there are no plans to change this at this point.

Nope, I haven't heard anything.

Ommra are we still being looked or the announced changes will be just it? Most of our concerns are simply not being met... sure there´s a minor buff to our mana managment and thread wich is nice, but surelly not enough!

I am only speculating now, but since we don't have any pure "class patches" any more I assume there will be forthcoming changes. Also the wording in my original message: "the developers are currently looking into" strongly hints that more changes will come eventually (as with all classes, since this is a game in constant development).

I don't have any new information however, but as usual it will be posted whenever we know what the plans are.

Ommra, if you haven't already, please look into our community feedback thread: http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=263306407&sid=1&pageNo=1

It's all Constructive Criticism - have a look if you have some time, the community has worked hard on it. ;)

I've read it, don't worry (Vaneras mentioned it too the other day). Nice job, much appreciated, but I don't have anything to comment right now. Some stuff are things I have forwarded already, and also replied to.
