New Player realms
Normal/PvE: Bronze Dragonflight

Free Character Migration (FCM)
The below FCM is available until February 9th 2010.

From: Burning Legion, Crushridge, Grim Batol, Kazzak, Outland, Ragnaros, Stormreaver
To: Daggerspine, Deathwing, Agamaggan

From: Argent Dawn
To: Moonglade, Steamwheedle Cartel, The Sha'tar, Earthen Ring, Darkmoon Faire

From: Vek'nilash
To: Haomarush, Trollbane, Zenedar

Alliance Only:
From: Darksorrow, Frostmane, Ravencrest, Sylvanas
To: Kor'gall, Lightning's Blade, Shattered Halls, Talnivarr

Horde Only:
From: Shattered Hand, Stormscale, Twilight's Hammer
To: Dragonmaw, Hakkar, Sunstrider

Please note: FCM is opened based on realm population tracking and analysis, not by request. If you're looking for a specific migration (from realm A to realm B), you are in most cases better off using Paid Character Transfer, or you could end up waiting for a very long time.

Paid Character Transfers (PCT)
All English realms follow the regular PCT rules, found here:

Horde only to Dragonmaw?

This can't be right. There's a least twice the amount of active players on Horde side, especially after pretty much all the top PvPers on the alliance side (bar 3 players) and most of the raiding alliance guilds have either migrated or disbanded and faction changed.

Not one wintergrasp goes by when we don't have tenacity, and we usually have 5-10 tenacity in most. Are you sure you haven't made a mistake and were meant to open up Alliance only?

The active Horde population on Dragonmaw is pretty much the same as a medium sized server. The Alliance side is the reason why we're listed as low.

3rd time asking hopefully its a charm!

RP and RP-PvP realms? whats the ruling on these, i would really like to roll on 1 but dont know which! :D
What kind of information are you looking for exactly? :-) Hints and tips on how to find the best realm or are you thinking something else?

If it's the former, it's subjective I guess. Probably the only really way to find out about a realm and whether you like playing on it is to try playing on it. But you can sometimes get a bit of information just by asking a few questions in each realm's dedicated forum. Some realm forums, well most in fact, usually have helpful stickied threads which might have some information you're looking for. But again, it depends on what that is.

Good luck in your quest :-)

I'm interesting what realm population tracking and analysis say about Emeriss, do you see any trouble there, and are there any plans to revive the realm and what could be the way - merge it with low populated realm but with inverted H:A ratio, FCM or just to close it and offer us several option to migrate.
Thank you!
We consider any realm with a relatively low population and high faction imbalance to be a realm in an undesirable state.

Horde only to Dragonmaw?
Yes. Dragonmaw's faction balance is actually pretty good when compared to most other EU English PvP realms and it still has the capacity to take on more players. Your impressions may vary, but this is the case and this is why we have it as a destination realm this week.

The Argend Dawn FCM has been active for quite a while and doesn't seem too effective. If you would offer transfers to RP-PVP realms I think people might be more interested in migrating. At the moment I personally don't see any reason to transfer away from AD to a lower population same ruleset realm, specially since AD is a very good RP server.

Just my thoughts on the matter.
Thanks for your thoughts. We have no plans for this kind of suggestion, however. Character Moves are typically set up purely for population reasons, and not to accommodate requests to play on another type of realm.

What you might not have noticed is that this week the free Character Moves from Argent Dawn increased to now cover all other RP realms as possible destinations -- we are hopeful that increasing the amount of options will further improve the population situation on Argent Dawn.

If people are happy to play on Argent Dawn along with the associated queues, then that is their wish and we respect that -- the use of a free Character Move is optional and of course we realise that. However, this does not mean that we also do not want to provide the option for those who do not want the queues or for whatever reason would rather be on one of our other RP realms.

And people do move away from Argent Dawn to the other RP realms every week -- we track the figures of those who utilise the free Character Moves.

Q u o t e:
I apologise if I'm chatting nonsense, it's just our realm finds it hard to believe that Horde are in a minority. And by 'our realm' I mean the responses and opinions of players I've spoken to on both factions, general/trade chat, and our realm forum. I'm also not saying that horde do not require more players, I'm saying Alliance do too, and the whole server has ever since Frostmane was created.
Having Horde-only free Character Moves to Dragonmaw does not mean that there is no possibility that there might be FCMs for Alliance or both factions to Dragonmaw in the future. I am compelled to point out though that any such statement is not to be seen as a promise of any kind.

Just to reiterate, your realm may well appear to have a dominance of Horde but what needs to be considered is that the majority of EU English PvP realms have a faction balance worse than Dragonmaw. Apart from a few exceptions, this is mostly a Horde dominance.

By the way, you seem a bit concerned that you had come across as though attacking me -- rest assured I didn't feel you came across that way and there's no harm done. ;-)

Q u o t e:
Wouldn't it be a more fruitful idea to open up Alliance only FCM from largely Alliance dominant realms to Dragonmaw aswell as the Horde only FCM?
Again, that it isn't the case now doesn't mean it can't be in the future. If we set up Alliance only free Character Moves to all Horde dominated realms, the increase this would provide to all those realms would be so minuscule it would be undetectable. Instead we choose to concentrate on a few realms at a time, which for one thing helps to facilitate a potentially more significant and noticeable change towards greater faction balance. Another thing is that it helps to ensure those who do move have others in a similar position to mix with. It wouldn't be so nice to move and be one of few that did, because there were so many destination realms to choose from. Hope this snippet of information helps explain things a bit.

Q u o t e:
Yea I just wanted to make sure you didn't think I was attacking you. The majority of blue posts tracked on other sites show players simply abusing blues.
Thank you, Fred. :-)

Got 2 problems:

1. I'm trying to move my alliance character from Darksorrow to Shattered Halls and whenever I check status, it says ERROR.
2. If I try to open character move from account management again, It says none of my characters are eligible for free transfer but if I press the refresh button over 5 times, all of a sudden it finds all my characters (even those that really are ineligible for free transfer)
For #1 above, are you saying that you have already made a character move but are unable to see the status of the move?

Nevermind, I went to check the character status now and all of a sudden it was completed (even though I havent recieved an e-mail of succesful transfer but whatever)
Very strange. But I'm glad to hear it is OK now.

Don't worry, I completely understand the process and the reasoning. I'm just confused as to why you've selected Dragonmaw as a destination realm for Horde only. Dragonmaw is in need of more players in general, but Alliance more so than Horde, which is why all the Alliance on Dragonmaw are completely dumbfounded by this. Infact one person on our realm forum has suggested that it's probably just a typo.
Well it wasn't. The realm can take more players and the expected amount of Horde immigrants is not anticipated to force the faction balance too far in the wrong direction.

Are you implying that there's already a Horde dominance? :p
We haven't outright disagreed with your assertion here. What we have made clear though, is that your realm is one of the most faction balanced EU English PvP realms able to take on more population without great risk of queues.

Probably getting banned now but it's just silly. OPEN YOUR EYES.
Please read above for a reply already made about Emeriss. Though I appreciate you are not happy with your realm, you need to remember we are well aware that some realms are not in the state we aim for. We have already commented that we are aware of this, if you just look above at some of my previous replies.

It's unbalanced for ages now, every time someone posts something about it they get ignored or they even get banned.
Well I am sorry to hear you feel that has been the case. I need to make it clear though that nobody would be suspended or banned without it being because of a clear breach of the forum rules.

The forum rules:
http://forums.wow-europe.com/thread.html?topicId=10701098&postId=107101103&sid=1#2

Anyone who is suspended or banned has the right to appeal if they feel the suspension is unwarranted. We personally investigate each and every mail we receive. If you or someone you know believes they have been unjustly banned, please point them towards our webform:

No problem there, Frostmane made sure we'd never see a queue again! Can I suggest that you consider FCM for alliance next time round then please? If we do get an influx of Horde I'll cry. Do want me to cry?
We've already responded to this. And no we do not want to make you cry. :-(

Q u o t e:
About the Argent Dawn FCM: Im a bit concerned that there's only an ability to transfer to other RP realms.
Reason for my concern is that there's already a large population on Argent Dawn who do not participate in any form in Role-play. The worst thing that could happen is that people who DO participate in role-play will leave to other realms.

I have the feeling, that because Argent Dawn is on top of the server-list (because the alphabetical order) lot's of new players make a character on the server without realizing they have joined a Role-play server. Maybe some extra PR about what it means to play on a RP server and giving non-RPers a free migration to PVE or PVP servers could solve two problems on Argent Dawn: Overpopulation and the abundance of non-RP players.

Just a thought :)
Thanks for sharing your thoughts. You may have noticed we no longer recommend New Players for our RP realms. We believe quality role playing players will be able to find the RP realms on their own accord, and that typically "real" new players are better placed on non-RP realms until they are informed enough about what role playing means to decide to want to be on one of those realms.

It isn't completely impossible that we might migrate from RP to non-RP but as far as I am aware this hasn't happened while I have been working here (and may never have happened before) and I know of no current plans for this to be the case. Please do not take my reply as any indication that anything like this could ever happen.

Just as a general response to a few posts, yes we are well aware that apart from just a handful of realms, many EU English PvP realms need a greater Alliance population.

It would be great to announce that we were hurriedly at work building vast factories to produce cloned human players that prefer to play Alliance on PvP realms, but unfortunately this is not the case.

However this does not mean that we have stopped in our efforts to aim towards greater faction balance and active populations for these realms.

any chance Xavius again gets FCM?we received a bump in population for recent FCM but i think we still need more ppl,at least on alliance side, since we have basicly only 25% of population of full server
It's unlikely at this point, as Xavius now has a healthy enough population. It is quite possible if it was a destination realm again, that it might go into queues and this is not something we want to see happening. Of course we continue to review this each week, so things are subject to change.

Again, FCMs are not done on request, sorry.

We are already reviewing the new FCMs for the up-coming week, and we should have these up to see tomorrow afternoon.

what is healthy enough?i hope you dont count all the lv under 10 that just poked on our servers to get more info about our server since as ia said we only have 25% population of heathly server so we do have room to accpet at least as much lv80s as we have on our server now to still be just medium filled server
If any of the new players, that chose to roll on Xavius while it was recommended for new players, decide to leave after a while and the population drops down to where we feel it is safe to be able to choose the realm to be a destination for a free Character Move again, then we'd definitely look into doing that if it seemed fitting at the time.

What you guys need is a FFC - free faction change =]
This comes up as as suggestion as lot and obviously it is something that has crossed our minds too. Unfortunately though, developing this new system (and yes it is something that requires new development) is not currently something that I am aware we have any plans for. This of course does not mean it might never come.
