I have on and off periodes I play, I once was a hardcore gamer and I have the knowhow to play this game on a hardcore level.

I work any other week late, therefor theres few guilds who want me, since I only can join raids any other week.

Now when ICC came out I have ofcourse read up on the encounters, and feel im up to date on the upcomming bosses and encounters. The problem is "Do you have achievement?"

No I dont. but I do more dps than most mages, and most people Ive played with can confirm this, but im not taken into groups due to lack of achievement. I know the fights and my history(ive played since American Beta) gives me an edge over most other cassual gamers.

then again.. HOW can I manage to get achievement when im not getting let into group to do the content?
Its a bad loop. Not having achievement -> not getting into groups -> not getting achievement.. and so fort.

I for once value knowhow over achievement. This is just my two cents. :)

How do you feel about organising a PuG of your own? Then you could choose your own selection criteria for invites, if you felt it necessary. I'm not having a go at you, just wondered if you'd considered it.

Q u o t e:
I read a thread on here at some point last week - the guy formed a PuG and instead of asking for an achievement or gearscore as proof (both actions that I DESPISE MUCHLY) that you know what you are doing, he instead asked the people a simple question about a mechanic of one of the fights of the instance.

The amount of crap he got from people with 5k GS and all these achievements who couldn't answer a single question about the fights was quite funny.

BTW his pug succeeded. Just a thought.
I recall this thread, and must say that it certainly shows that skill or knowledge is paramount. Definitely food for thought.
