Situation on RU-Свежеватель душ.

Dear european technical support staff.
I am writing this post to call your attention to the situation that has arisen on the Russian realms, most notably on RU-Свежеватель душ (Soulflayer). To make this easier to read and understand I am gonna go throught the problem point by point.

1. Queues. At 8 p.m. (Moscow time) queues of 700-1000 people (moving at a snail’s pace) are a normal thing. The !!**!est thing is that frustratingly long and slow in mid-November they seemed to dissappear in December almost entirely, just to strike back now, as slow as ever.

N.B. The paid tranfer to the realm is still open though worsening the situation.

2. Lags . Wednesday (the night after the technical maintenance) is unraidable now. It’s lagging in ICC, TotC, in the cities and outside. The “report lag” button doesn’t appear to produce any sort of positive effect.

3. Server crashes. They happen approximately 2-3 times per week in rush hours, very often on Saturday and Sunday. Those crashes manifest themselves in the most curious way. Once, I swear, while raiding ICC we uncountered the Magical Spider Corpse. Whoever looted it got disconnected and couldn’t log back into the game. As entertaining as it sounds, it really is not. As a person who’s raidtime is limited, it really kills me to spend an hour in the queue just to be present at yet another server crash.

4. The complete and utter neglect towards the players on the official russian forums. Here I’d have to elaborate.

When server dies, many tend to panic spawning tons of threads on the forums with big bad words, abuse, and death threats.

That’s our nature, we can’t really fight it. But sometimes just a few words like “we are aware of the situation” let alone the explanation of what is happening is enough to calm people down. It just seems that our cries go unheeded. To be fair on 25.01.10 we’ve gotten a response an HOUR after the first message.

I got a response from the tech stuff on ENG-forums in just a few minutes, for God’s sake!

When being asked to address the situation on the realm, forum staff just resorts to phrases like “we have the free transfer to the newly-opened realm (with no economy or anything whatsoever – a/n), feel free to use it”. Worst case scenario – silence.

So, I urge you! Please, explain once and for all, what is happening to our realm? Is that true that it is run on the PC from the 80ties rather than on the high-tech hardware we expect Blizzard to equipt its servers with? Is there hope for us yet?

Respectfully, Оромэ of RU-Свежеватель душ.
