Xfactions communication

Well...back in old time maybe there was a reason to avoid people from opposite faction to communicate with you:

PVP and PVP-RP realms was allowed to have characters only on the same faction of ur main so it was impossible for people to roll another character lvl1 to talk with you from the opposite one.

What i don't get is why blizzard still persist in this conduct.

Seriously...i was playin on an alt on another server (pvp) when i've owned a dude that was roamin around stealin my kills and overall my veins, was just buisness nothin personal :P

After 30 sec (20 of logout + 10 charactercreationlogin) i've got a whisper from this dude pratically washin my ears with acid because "i will report you for physical harassment u $%"£%$/"!"!|!%%çç%&%$ u son of a $%£"%!%ç£"!ç$ççç£$%çòò" and many other things

I know not all players are like this (usually they're worse :D) but this forced me to guess why there is still this restriction (that pratically castrate RP on realms like mine) while people can justcrweate a lvl 1 char login and start whine

Ofc in BG arena and even maybe on PVP server this would not a good choice...maybe even on RP realms u should force people to think 2 times before abuse of xfaction communication (maybe u have to pay a fee of many golds for example)...but clearly it's now the time to think about it since it's just somethin that has no more sense considering the recent changes (or if it has still plz someone show me coz i don't catch it)

Even with the advent of being able to have both factions on a PvP server, the fact is the factions share a different language. Whilst they have a common tongue amongst themselves (as well as select languages such as Gnomish or Orcish etc), they do not understand the dialects of their foes - even their common language. It makes for much more interesting game play across the board in my experience. Less people are inclined to relog an opposing faction character to say nasty things than if they could say these things directly (that is not to say it doesn't happen, but if they could communicate directly there would be a greater deal of terrible things said across the board).

Q u o t e:
[...]it cannot be completely justified in terms of lore, and for roleplayers cross-faction communication through Common would definitely create a lot of interesting options - however, it would also greatly increase the workload for GMs due to kids nerdraging left and right at the sight of a red/yellow name. So that's why it probably won't happen.
I could have been clearer that of course the reason is not purely lore related, yet lore can explain the majority of the reasons cross faction communication is a no-go at this time.
