Hey Blizz ppl.

I was so lucky to get the staff yesterday, and let me say I was so happy. But do you think that it is working as i should ? I know that there have been some problems with hit of the sum. creatures , but that should be fixed now. But I lose like 100 haste and some crit. and get this dude can I have a chance to sum. But damn how low is the proc? just saying it is ilvl 264 and it does not fell like it, ppl see it now more as a fun staff then a dps staff. thats why I write this, was this the meaning about the staff?

Donno if this is the right forum to write in, but I could not find a better place. perhabs the proc rate should be highere or something, or give it some haste or crit. I donno thats why I am not hired by blizz. But still thing the staff is way underpowered.

Or is it just me that thinks this ?

Thanks
Zohan

Nibelung, as well as all other items we put in ICC that sacrifice stats for cool procs, are constantly being watched carefuly. You did mention the changes that enabled the Val'kyr to hit all the time and this was put in place to make them more effective. At the same time their damage output was increased. We have a track history of having to make tweaks on these items that sacrifice stats for procs because they're hard to see precisely how well balanced they are without seeing a whole lot of data.

We have no immediate plans to make further changes at this time, but should we decide changes need to be made to this, or any similar item, we will keep you all informed.

We are currently in the process of applying two hotfix improvements to the Nibelung staff. The first change is that we are improving the chance for a val’kyr to proc from 1% to 2%. While this may not seem like a significant improvement, it will be notable and result in the val'kyr appearing more often. This change has made it so other items/procs can no longer cause other items to procs, only spells a player knows. This is why we increased the proc chance for this item from from 1% to 2% but that is still a buff overall.

The second change is that anytime a summoned val’kyr casts her smite spell, she will heal herself for 25% of her maximum health. This will help keep them alive when AoE damage is happening but not make them invincible as we still want them to feel like a summoned creature and not a special form of a DoT spell that has awesome art.

We understand the frustrations players have had with this weapon so far. We currently plan to make more proc weapons in the future and are committed to making this and other proc weapons fun and competitive items.

[Edit: Updated with new further clarification.]

I've updated my last reply with a bit more clarification. The val'kyr will heal itself by 25% of her maximum health, not her damage done. And there's a bit more clarification on the proc chance change, too.
