New Player realms
Normal/PvE: Terenas
PvP: Shattered Halls

Free Character Migration (FCM)
The below FCM is available until January 5th 2010. All migrations are faction restricted to improve ratios on involved realms, thus your faction is currently the less populated one on the destination realm.

Both:
From: Argent Dawn
To: Moonglade, The Sha'tar

Alliance only:
From: Ravencrest, Sylvanas
To: Auchindoun, Karazhan, Shattered Halls

Please note: FCM is opened based on realm population tracking and analysis, not by request. If you're looking for a specific migration (from realm A to realm B), you are in most cases better off using Paid Character Transfer, or you could end up waiting for a very long time.

Paid Character Transfers (PCT)
All English realms follow the regular PCT rules, found here:

Bloody hell, Terenas is like the land that time forgot. I'd honestly never heard of the realm and looking at its forum its no wonder why...

Well, two weeks ago Terokkar was recommended and it got a rather hefty group of new characters. Then last week it was Nagrand and the same thing happened. So, people of Terenas, be prepared because if this festive population trend continues you may be making some nice profits at your Auction House this coming week. ;-)

What is it with you and auction houses? Every post about new realms being recommended you seem to advocate the profitability of stocking up the auction house when it happens!

What is your secret? Always be selling? Do you get a cut???
I no longer spend all my weekend on my bank char watching over all my auctions -- instead I spend all my time currently grinding emblems through the dungeon tool. But there was a time when the auction house was a great source of fun for me and that time may come again. Yes, it might sound crazy to you two-leggers, but to us crocolisks this is quite normal behaviour... ;-)

fyi blizzard there was problem last week and this week where the RP and RPPvP realms that are reccomended for new players are not displayed as such and is was like that the whole week so you might want to fix it.
They won't be displaying correctly on the website, but they should be showing correctly in game. The website will be updated again soon.

OK it appears the error is in the original post, not the realm listings -- there are no longer any recommended RP or RP-PvP realms. We have updated the original post to reflect this.

Aerie Peak, Al Akir, C Thun, Dentarg, Draenor, Drak Thul, Dun Modr, Frostwhisper, Hellscream, Laughing Skull, Magtheridon, Ravencrest, Silvermoon, Stomrscale, Sylvanas, Vashj, Xavius, Veknilash and a lot more: servers where one faction outnumbers the other at least 4 to 1.
For the record the vast majority of this information is horribly inaccurate. :) Third party sources often represent inaccurate data on faction balance.

We've not lied about this once, let alone one hundred times, and no where have we ever stated that 'The realms are balanced guys, everything is rosy' whilst waving our arms in a Jedi like fashion.

I was simply stating that the information you presented was false, despite peoples claims on the forums that the faction ratio of their realm is as you repeated them to be. I just didn't fluff about padding it in a way that dampened my perhaps harsh truth, that the information was mostly incorrect.
