WTF folder gone missing

When I start up WoW it reads the wrong WTF folder. The WTF folder from the folder which I launch the game is not the one used by the .exe file. I have been trying to find the location of this WTF folder with no success.

1. I have reinstalled the game.
2. I have moved the folder that I use on my laptop(which works as intended on the laptop) over with an external hdd, but it keeps reading from another WTF folder, same as earlier.
3. Launched directly from external HDD - same issue.
4. Have performed searches of the entire hard drive, nothing found.

I do indeed use Vista, that is most likely why this is so damned near impossible to figure out.

Hi,

The WTF folder may be stored in the following locations on Vista:

C:\Users\Public\Games\World of Warcraft
C:\Programfiles\World of Warcraft

C:\Users\[username]\Appdata\Local\virtualstore\Program files\World of Warcraft

The appdata folder is hidden and can be found by doing this:

1. Click on the Windows button then Settings and finally Control Panel
2. Double-click on the icon called Folder Options
3. Select the View tab, then in the Advanced Settings: section
4. Make sure that the option Show hidden files and folders is selected, then press OK
