Worgen=Even bigger alliance

im sorry but something seems to have gone horribly wrong with Blizzards reasoning here, the horde is already hugely outnumbered by the alliance and now....you give the alliance werewolves?! I may be speaking for myself here but im sure a lot more people would rather play as a werewolf than a glorified green gnome. It just feels that the alliance force will keep on growing and the game inbalance between the sides will get worse and worse, i can imagine a lot of horde players will jump to alliance just for the chance to play a werewolf.

Apologies if you dont agree, but this is my opinion on things. Would be interesting to hear your thoughts.

(by the way...this is not a lore discussion, its about game balance between the two sides)

I totaly agree with op here. Imo worgens are already cool race but when you create one you wont only play a worgen, it can also be converted human form when you r out of combat. Worgens will be different and charming factor for players to decide which side they select or reroll.

This is true :-)

You can run around and socialize as a Human if you wish to do so, but you will always be a Worgen when you are in combat... Rawrrr!!!

Goblin is gonna be much more fun than the Worgen...

I have heard many say this also, and I am rather sure that not everyone will roll a Worgen as soon as Cataclysm goes live... Some people just can't resist that good old Goblin charm. :-)

I think it is a little premature to worry about faction balance in Cataclysm at this point in time, and there are several reasons for this:

1. We will probably see many people try the Worgens for sure, but we should not forget that many others are more attracted to the Goblins.

2. People have generally invested a lot of time and effort into their current characters and guilds, and many are not willing to throw all that away to start from scratch on a new character.

3. it is true that many realms have a dominant Alliance population, but many other realms have a dominant Horde population. When people roll a new character, they often tend to roll the same faction as their main character so that the main character can help out with gold, gear, consumables, anti-gank control, etc.

4. A lot of people tend to return to their old main characters after having played a new character for a while.

5. There will be new race and class combinations also, and some people will prefer this over the new races.

Best thing to do right now is to take it easy and wait and see what happens :-)
