[Patch 3.2.2] Onyxia Lore

I haven't been able to find any information about this topic. What is the lore behind the return of Onyxia?
As far as I know she was killed by Varian Wrynn during the time of World of Warcraft (classic). Is there any lore behind her return or is that encounter just a nostalgia thing that is outside the lore?

If statements regarding this has been made I would happily be redirected to those. I would really like some real facts with sources from official statements and not just your opinion on the matter or what you consider to be true. A blue reply would be really awesome.

I'm going to repeat Bornakk's comment here for visibility and ease of access to our local forum natives ;)

There is no change in the lore, the story works just the same as it does with Onyxia in the game right now. This a celebration of the 5 year anniversary of World of Warcraft and we are doing something a little more than just adding a pet this year.
