Blizz need to stop caving in to whiners

They nerfed arcane mages many months ago when Mages finally had 2 specs to play and could finally do well in 2vs2.

Now look where we are. In top 100 arena we ONLY have frost represented

And we have been the bottom class in the top 100 player ratings for how many months now??

Why'd they nerf arcane anyway? We were not even the top class in top 100 arena! And this was during a time people tended to have bad gear, so it was easier to burst them with arcane.

So they nerf arcane, even though we are NOT overrepresented and NOT OP in arena, and now look where it's at, NOBODY in top 100 practically is arcane. How is that good balancing? It went from being a good but not OP spec to WORTHLESS in pvp. :(

IMO this was done because of the whiners. People whined about being "1 shotted", which only happened if you had really bad gear or were a really bad player. Dks and ret pallies were doing BETTER on average at the time it was nerfed, and yet their specs were hardly ruined ...

Why do people insist we have to be a CC (aka frost spec)? Mages are the masters of the elements, they are supposed to do DPS, being CC is fine if you want to spec frost, but we should have an alternative for PVP to do DPS and not CC.

The irony of this thread is quite thick. If we were to not adjust and balance out classes or specs that are over the top, then we "cater to the FotM rerollers". If we balance and adjust specs and classes when we see them performing at levels above what we intended for them, then we "cave in to the whiners". Incidentally, if we were to listen solely to threads like this one and undo some changes by request, then we'd still be "caving in to the QQ".

Fact of the matter is, everyone seems to have an opinion on what "the correct" class balance should be. My question to you is, what makes your opinion more valid and more worthwhile than those who make claims diagonally opposite to yours?

We are aware that our ideas for where classes should be does not always match what (some) players want, and we're fine with that. We're more than happy to read feedback from players, but it is not the only, nor the most weighted source, we consider game changes based on. It just so happens that sometimes we agree with players on needed changes, and sometimes we don't.
