I would like to express my concerns regarding the upgrade of the Onyxia raid dungeon.
Personally I do think this has way to many implications on the world experience, to be just accepted.
1. Onyxia was a part of the old level 60 world, and still plays an important role in both the quest lines for Quel'Serar and the Scepter of the Shifting Sands. A revamp would destory both quest lines, and make it impossible to experience two of the best quest lines you have created for this game.
2. Onyxia is part of an ancient progression line. You do need Onyxia as level 60 raid, to play Blackwing Lair. What about all those players that chose to switch off experience with patch 3.2, to play on level 60 and raid the old world content, and just a few days after you seriously punch those players into their backs... What about the Onyxia Scale Cloak? Will that get upgraded too? If yes, you will have to upgrade Blackwing Lair to level 80, too.
3. From your own perspective, and from the games storyline, Onyxia is dead. Varian Wrynn killed her. She does not exist anymore. If she suddenly comes back, will you bring back the old Onyxia attunement questline, too?
I can't help it, but I strongly recommend to reconsider the Onyxia revamp. If you - Blizzard Entertainment - want to work for an immersive world experience, where things work well, and make sense, then the Onyxia revamp does just not fit into this concept.
Please at least consider to keep the level 60 version existent, and allow your customers to chose.
With kind regards,
....
