I am really looking forward to Holy Power.

For those of you that don't know Paladins will be getting a new secondary resource to manage in Cata called Holy Power. You can check it out here from Blizzards Twitter chat under the Paladin section:

Now there are two little bits of information that look interesting. One is that Crusader Strike will be one of the ways you gain stacks of Holy Power. This could be why currently Hammer of the Righteous has no cooldown, so Blizzard is making us decided between a high threat attack and a lower threat attack that provides a benefit, somewhat like how a warrior will de-prioritize Devastate when Sunder Armour is stacked fully. There will apparently be other cooldowns that can provide Holy Power stacks also.

The second set information that intrigued me is that for prot pallies (presumably) we can choose to use Holy Power to either extend the duration of Holy Shield or increase our holy damage through a buff called Inquisition. This is pretty neat because paladins will finally have to choose between offence or defence in a way beyond just spending a GCD. This may ultimately be a minor decision by its a welcome improvement to 696.

We'll have to wait a few weeks for to see this stuff in action but it sounds very exciting.
