Yeah, I'd like to see your spec as well.

What other classes have you leveled?

Right now I''m specced, 42/0/10. I think my level 70 spec will look something like 46/0/15. I'll have a better idea once I progress further, however.

My other high(er) level characters are:

Priest - 70
Mage - 65
Shaman - 60
Warlock - 38

Eonyx,

Are you gonna go for a raiding build?

It would be nice if maybe you could share some of your experiences as moonkin. (i know you won't because forums will spindoctor whatever you said, but i had to try)

I hope you enjoy it and see the pro and cons of the class/spec. I love my moonkin (not as much as my resto which i dearly miss) but having the power to contribute massive dps to a raid makes me very happy!

This character just joined a small guild who is preparing for Kara, so I will likely raid and choose a raid appropriate talent build, yeah.

I quested by myself until level 58 and then entered Outland this weekend. While I've done a great deal of solo/questing there, I've also been pugging the first two wings of Hellfire Citadel repeatedly. So far it seems that with my spec, I'm a very good damage-dealing support character. I can do respectable damage, and off-heal very well. Additionally, I can give the healer another bar of mana every six minutes as needed, as well as offer other types of utility. It's obvious now that playing a healing class for so many years has changed my play-style permanently. I do as much damage as I'm able, but am not concerned with being number one. I'd rather keep an eye on health and the situation as a whole while dps'ing, and provide whatever is most needed for the group at any particular moment.

In short, the most fun I've had is when grouping. I look forward to seeing how this class/spec plays and performs at end-game -- which hopefully won't be much longer.

Well, that was nifty. Eyonix actually replied to me, with a quote even!

Props to Eyo for being the most responsive Blue ever!

The cynic in me wants to know if he leveled Balance from lvl 10 on - like I'm doing right now.

Having leveled a feral to 60, and now a balance druid, I'm pleasantly surprised with moonkin DPS/utility.

I've been Balance since I received my first talent point, yes. I don't care to play melee classes very much in any game. It's just a personal preference, so I'll likely never respec to Feral.

hehe... GL with your moonkin - hopefully get a better feel for what my birdie brethren experience at lvl 70 itemization.

BTW... what professions?

Skinning/Herbalism

I just want gold. :P

That and it seemed like a good idea to be able to send my priest herbs for alchemy.

Oh, also -- I like how when I swim in Moonkin form my antlers stick out of the water. It makes me not want to switch into Aquatic form.

Way to sell what a moonkin is. Not that I disagree with this outlook, it just doesn't work in all situations (pvp fyi). Anyways, you should have been more subtle, cause it didn't get by me.

Sorry, but... lol!

Do you ever plan on going resto?

I know that I will be tempted to try out restoration at some point. I have a dedicated healing priest on the same realm though, so I do plan to stick with balance.

Just kinda curious on:

the gear you have. Are you wearing leather or cloth items?

in terms of play style, do you melee ever?

Do you have or will you have omen of clarity?

Do you ever have mana issues?

Do you ever use your other forms?

Just for the record, I am basically 100% feral at this point, but I started as a balance druid. I just liked moonfire. Its still one of my favorite spells in the game.

At the moment two of my items are cloth, the rest are leather. I don't mind wearing cloth if the stats speak my language.. I treat armor value the same as any other stat considered by me to be secondary. Meaning, it's worth sacrificing if I gain a satisfactory amount of another primary stat, such as spell damage or spell crit.

I melee very little. Perhaps it's just me, but I'd rather sit and drink for a second or two here and there if it means I can blow things up more. I was considering taking Omen of Clarity at one point a while back, but unfortunately, with the change to Subtlety I simply can't spare the extra point.

I go from Moonkin to caster as needed, and occassionaly cat (stealth, falling), travel form and aquatic form.

Last time I used bear form was by accident. :P

Eyonix,

I'm very curious to hear what your thoughts are on raiding as a Moonkin.

Mana Issues, balancing stats and the like.

Let me/us know when you hit 70 and raid on this character.

~Thanks

Will do -- 63 already! :)

How do you feel about the lack of CC while doing ramps/BF.

I cc'd the dogs in ramparts just fine. :)

So far, I don't feel that I'm hurting from limited crowd control. I'm still little, however. We'll see how things progress. I don't see myself as a cc class though, so I'm not sure my opinion will change. Time will tell.

Sadly you don't seem to see yourself as a DPS class either. :) You see yourself as an off-healer with some DPS you may or may not toss out.

Frankly, I think the only reason you aren't Resto right now is because you are leveling to 70 and know for a fact that leveling Resto is like pounding nails into your own molars. I expect that when you reach 70 you will respec to Resto, because you seem more in love with healing than DPS. Balance to you is simply a loaner vehicle spec you are using to reach level 70 faster.

To me such an approach explains quite well why you don't see yourself as a CC class. "CC? What would I need that for? I'm a healer! I get invites to heal, not to CC."

I think you took my comments to the extreme, friend. I DO see myself as being in a dps role. What I stated was that I am not concerned with bringing the absolute best possible dps to the table, if it means sacrificing support or utility that's needed, which I can provide.

As far as your restoration comment -- I leveled a holy/disc priest from 1 to 60 prior to patch 1.10 when it was even slower than it is now. I really don't have a problem progressing a slow leveling character. I chose the balance spec druid because I wanted a damage class that could offer more than just damage, when compared to other damage classes.

In short, you're full of incorrect assumptions. Please log off the internet. :)

I know what you mean, this is the same reason I like to be in cat form when swimming rather then aquatic, I just can't resist the little kitty paddling through the water :D

My favorite is the rare occasions while questing of passing another Moonkin, stopping to stare in confusion, and then dancing.

I'm not sure why, but it always appears to me as some sort of hilarious mating ritual...

I entered Blade's Edge Mountains this morning. I'm going to try and hit 70 this weekend, but not completely sure that I'll be able to pull it off. At the very least, I'll have my flying form. :)
