Character pronouns

I don’t know where to put this so it’s going here.

I am non-binary, and I prefer to go by they/them pronouns, but often this isn’t possible as it is unsafe for me to publicly come out.

When I was levelling my Dwarf Shaman in Drustvar earlier today, and one of the quest NPCs referred to my character as ‘they’. This made me so inordinately happy that I felt like I had to let Blizzard know to say thank you.

I know that it wasn’t a deliberate thing, but seriously, from the bottom of my heart, thank you Blizzard. It may only seem like a little thing, but it’s made a lot of difference to me. So thank you.

Thank you very much for sharing Sho!

I don’t have any insight as to whether or not this was intentional as I am not involved with development, but I can tell you that if our games bring even the smallest of smiles, we’re being successful. Your heartfelt message means the world to us. Thank you :hugs:

I’ve cleaned up a little of the conversation that moved away from the positive theme of the topic, and I’d like to remind everyone that we at Blizzard foster an inclusive environment. We’d like you all to keep this in mind when considering replying. Positivity first.

Thank you again Sho! Locking the thread now to prevent divergence of discussion down a path not appropriate for the forums.

Fermulac and myself had to action a few folk, so while we do understand people have opinions, we’d like to remind everyone to adhere to the Forum Code of Conduct.
