Steam version: “Downloading Content” on every launch

Please, how is this bug still a thing?? It’s been two years! For this reason i totally uninstalled the battlenet version and the app itself, deleted everything related to the app and today this bug comes back, on every single launch the game is “downloading content” but it isn’t actually downloading anything at all. The main problem is, this usually takes around 5 minutes to finish!
I am definitely uninstalling the Steam version and going back to battlenet because this is ridiculous!

Hello - I’m sorry this is happening. We’ve been trying to track down what is causing this issue and we could use your help.

When did this start happening?
Can you please provide your Overwatch error logs so we can look into it?

Hello again - Thanks for your patience. We have identified a fix for this issue and we expect it to roll out live for Steam users next week.
