Your data on your Battle.net and console accounts will be merged for Overwatch 2!
No. If you want to play between now and the launch of Overwatch 2, you need a valid license of Overwatch like getting the Watchpoint Pack.
We will have more details on that in an upcoming blog.
Hmm… is this in the PlayStation console interface? If so, reach out to PlayStation support for help.
This is a type of credit, so your total number of Competitive Points will be summed across all merged accounts.
This type of account abuse is going to be limited at best. The ability to account merge will only apply for current Overwatch accounts and new accounts starting in Overwatch 2, won’t be able to merge.
To clarify, account merging is for all accounts currently in Overwatch before the launch of Overwatch. If you start a new account when Overwatch 2 launches, it can’t merge to any preexisting Overwatch 1 console accounts.
Yeah this is going to come up unless you can merge all three console platforms. If you don’t have all three, ignore that prompt on PC.
This will be later when Overwatch 2 launches, don’t worry details coming very soon.
Yep, we are asking you to set up your accounts to be merged now so that when Overwatch 2 launches you will get all of your items on a single unified BattleNet account then.
Yep, head to account.battle.net/connections to review your existing linked console accounts.
You will get all of your Overwatch items from all platforms you have merged in a single BattleNet account ready to go on all platforms, but only when Overwatch 2 launches. Not before.
You should be good to go for your Switch platform.
To clarify, you can get all of your items from Overwatch in each of your platforms that you have collected up to this point into a unified BattleNet account which you can access in all platforms, once Overwatch 2 launches.
So if you have Pink Mercy on PS4, Oni Genji on PC, and Brick Bastion on Xbox and you merge all three platforms, you will access all three of those skins across all platforms for that BattleNet account.
Make sure it is downloaded and accessible in your console account and the skin should appear in your finalized BattleNet account once the merge is complete.
Thanks CowboyWife,
Go to account.battle.net/connections and see if your PlayStation account is linked to the correct BattleNet account.
Do the same, Tfast, just verify your accounts at account.battle.net/connections
You should be good to go then.
I will put in as much time as I have available. That being said, I will need to pull away here soon.
Yes, you should be prompted on PC as long as you already linked your PlayStation account. You can link online at account.battle.net/connections
To clarify, if you are already on a platform and then sign into a new platform under the same BattleNet account, you will access the items from that BattleNet on the new platform.
What you won’t be able to do is link a totally separate BattleNet account to another BattleNet account even if each account is on a different platform.
The highest XP level will be pushed through
You should be fine. Again just check your accounts you have linked to BattleNet at account.battle.net/connections
Like all duplicate cosmetics, there is no compensation for having two of the exact same item.
EDIT: To clarify, when I say duplicate, I mean if there are duplicate items between the two accounts being merged. Not duplicates that can appear from a opened Loot Box.
Correct. Details can be found in this r/Games AMA response from our system designer.
We do still plan to remove portrait levels for OW2, but we also want to celebrate this legacy accomplishment. The plan is to display your portrait level in your profile once we launch OW2.

You simply have that item, and no compensation or extra credits are issued from having the same item across multiple platforms before merging.
There will be a prompt in-game when you log in the next time to confirm you have the correct accounts you want to merge. Clicking confirm will lock the accounts you currently have linked in place.
You get to keep all of it, PC, Xbox, and Switch and will all be access from the same BattleNet account once Overwatch 2 launches.
What players cannot do is merge multiple console accounts from the same console platform. So say if you have two PlayStation accounts, you must pick one of those two PlayStation accounts to link and merge with the BattleNet account of your choice.
Hey everyone. Thanks for all of the questions, and I hope I was able to clarify a lot as we all get closer to Overwatch 2. I have to step away for now as there are many more things I am working on, but I will continue to check in for your questions and feedback.
Good morning, heroes! Going to take some time to answer some of your questions posted throughout the night since my last visit. A few quick things to follow up on:
