Greetings heroes, the Overwatch development team is currently tracking your reports of drops in client-side performance - in other words, FPS drops - and we do want to acknowledge that these issues are very frustrating. The team is working towards solving what issues we can, but it would be very helpful for our engineers if you could provide the following information about your gaming machines and any common patterns in the framerate problems you experience.
We can’t promise that we’ll be able to solve every issue, whether they’re wider or setup-specific, but any info you can provide us will help!
The info we need, along with examples from my own gaming setup:
- System OS & Version: Windows 11 24H2 (other examples: Playstation 5, Xbox Series X)
- CPU: Intel i7-13700K (console players, feel free to omit this)
- GPU: NVIDIA RTX 4070 (probably not relevant for console either)
- Driver version: 595.45.04
- Memory: 32 GB DDR4 RAM @ 3200 MHz (console players… you get the idea)
- Storage: 2TB M.2 SSD
- LAN Internet: Ethernet (other common option is Wi-Fi; this is how your machine playing Overwatch connects to your home network)
- WAN Internet: Fiber - 1 GB/s (other common options include broadband cable, satellite, DSL)
- Game Platform: Battle.net and/or Steam (PC only - if you experience issues on both platforms, please be sure to let us know!)
- Any patterns you’ve observed in your FPS issues. For example:
- Framerate improves after reverting GPU driver version to XXX.XX.XX
- When switching to Steam from Battle.net, framerate improves/worsens
- Framerate drops only when equipping a certain skin
- And so on
