This game is so disappointing in WVW it feels broken. The rendering issues and night capping are horrible yet something bugs me even more.
This game is based on strategy and siege weapons. There is a wide choice of siege weapons with roles, ranges and counters and it feels great. Arrow cart against people attack, batistas in choke trebuchets when they got catapults defending.
Overall it’s fun to have a siege warfare it creates huge battlefields and it looks epic. The best thing so far is how siege is balanced. You can try to put 2 rams on a door and take it fast, but if they invested in Oil and a catapult behind the gate you will need to invest in a catapult too. Then if they get a trebuchet or a mortar to destroy your catapult you will need your own trebuchetss etc or maybe even a golem on the door so that he can hit inside the blank spot of trebuchets and mortars.
Sometimes you will need to defend these trebuchets from enemy attacks by investing even more in arrow carts and well placed balistas and they will need more siege weapons too.
But then all of a sudden a Mesmer, one single Mesmer with one single skill can teleport and entire army in your siege weapons and focus them. It doesn’t even matter how hard you try to kill them, they are doing a suicidal attack and that is so worth it. They are investing 0, absolutely no supply, no badges, no money except for repairs I guess and they can destroy an army of siege weapons worth a ton of supply, badges and money.
I have a question for Arena Net is this seriously how they think this game should be played ? Because right now it seems like that only way to take something is just ram the doors fast enough so the enemy can’t mass to defend then portal or use trebuchets from a tower… I’m so sad this game had so much potential for strategy and awesome playstyle, but it’s far from it…
