Last night someone tried to access my Steam and Guild Wars 2 accounts. I reset my password on Steam, but it won’t let me reset on Guild Wars 2 no matter how many times I do the reset form.
By the way, the hacker tried to access my Guild Wars 2 account first, so I assume that my Steam info was stolen off of Guild Wars 2. Fix the security, ArenaNet.
I believe you used a shared password, and that’s a very bad thing. For more information, please see Mike O’Brien’s article on account security. I do not believe that they got your credentials from Guild Wars.
As far as changing your password, I’m sorry you’re having difficulties. I encourage you to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist you.
