So basically while I’m taking a break from GW2 on holiday in Japan, my brother contacts me saying he got banned for botting???? This guy (and me) is about the biggest haters of bots there is in this game! I’m sure the devs can check the numerous reports we filed for botters in this game. He refused to borrow money from me and instead made few gold a day for over a month to afford the charged lodestones he needed to make the Foefire’s essence. In short, he’s not the type to bot in a game we both love!

So to the question, I started playing GW2 before my brother did, really enjoyed it and bought him a online copy (as a surprise gift) with my money and using my email-address (I would have preferred using his email but obviously didn’t have access) and now he is falsely accused of botting, should the creator (me) or the user (my brother) get in touch with support?

I really encourage your brother to contact Support by filing a ticket through the “Ask a Question” tab on that linked page. They will be able to assist him. Since you ordered with your email account, they may actually consider you to be the owner, so if they cannot verify ownership for him, they can try with your information, which you can provide with a separate ticket.

For tips on what information to provide in a ticket, please read this post and provide as much as possible to expedite the ticket.
