I got a message from support regarding how my credit cards were all getting declined. They lifted it for 48 hours so I could make my purchase, but then I asked if making the purchase would make my credit card work permanently. Their reply was: “I am only able to suggest that you try using a different computer to make your purchases.” What does this mean? Are they trying to say it seems like my computer was hacked? The machine’s only about a month old and the very first thing I did was removed all the “support” software from dell that gives them remote access, etc then replaced McAfee with Comodo Internet Security. I feel pretty confident my computer is fine. Does anyone know what I’m missing here? Maybe I’m getting the wrong idea of the implication from this support guy’s vague statement.
The first message I received said “Your purchase attempts triggered one or more of our systems that is meant to detect and prevent fraud.” Admittedly, I tried buying gems 2 times a day for several days with 2 CC’s and a verified PayPal account, but I was only doing it because I hoped that they had fixed the “glitch” and I just hadn’t been notified about it yet. The thing is it never worked on the very first try, so I can’t imagine that really being the issue.
