what happened to banning trolls?

It’s really annoying to see trolls all over the forums, posting hate-comments again and again without being banned from the game and the forums. What happened to the early intention to get rid of this unhealthy part of the community?

Why is there no system to infract people for talking agressive offensive and insulting the developers? I don’t get it. Peoples posts get deleted when they are saying anything to other players (most of the time) but when someone speaks of Anet in a not appropriate tone, does the player get banned? no.

I’m tired of defending Anet. Nothing happens to trolls, they claim they don’t play the game anymore – why not ban them..? they wouldn’t care if what they say is true.

The community developed to a really unhealthy environment for fans of the game which makes me really sad.

Hey all. Please understand that the moderators cannot read every post made on the forums. If you encounter posts that you believe to be in violation of the forum code of conduct (trolling, hatespeech, spam, personal attacks, etc), please use the report flag in the bottom right of the post to bring it to the moderation team’s attention. This is the best way to be certain a moderator will review a post.

That said, what some have expressed in this thread is correct, constructive criticism is not against the rules. Players are allowed to express their negative feedback as much as anybody is allowed to express positive feedback, so long as it’s done in a polite and respectful manner.

Howdy all,

We do have a system for you to report posts and forum members. When you look at a post, you should see a little flag in the bottom right. We would very much appreciate it if folks would use it, much like one person on this thread did, to get our attention.

In regards to coming across posts that violate the rules, please report any Code of Conduct ( https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/rules ) violations you come across. Thousands up thousands of posts are made every single day and although we wish we could review them all, it’s just not physically possible, so any assistance we can get from players like you using the report function are greatly appreciated.

I see Danicia and I are on the same page here

Actually there’s plenty of abusive trolling in some corners of this forum that aren’t being properly addressed. Reporting is great, but what when most posts could be reported? Players ganging up against others, mocking them, etc. Negative feed back is fine, but insulting fellow forum members is not, whatever “side” of the argument you may be on.

If you find that multiple posts in a thread require moderator attention, just make a note of it in your report. The mods will take a look and decide where to issue infractions and if a thread should be locked or not. Reporting is the best way to bring moderator attention to a thread. Plus it’s not visible to other players, so you won’t be singled out for being “that guy”.
