We weren't able to change error message.

Greetings,

I am posting here to help my brother. He has his own GW2 account, but since he stopped playing long ago, he forgot both password to his account and his characters names.

He contacted support by writing “Ask a question” ticket (reference number 130908-001660) and in response he got link to the page where he could set a new password.

The problem is that even though he tried typing different passwords many times, using different internet browsers – he still got the same error message : We weren’t able to change your password. Try following the link from your e-mail again.

Because of that, few days ago he posted another ticket describing his issue, but got no response so far.

I would really appreciate any help, as it would be really nice to start playing together.

ok, there are two important things to do to get this back on track.
a: Ask your brother to close the second ticket, that will only delay things.
b: Ask him to update the original ticket, he can respond to it by explaining it didn’t work and saying the error message.

If he waited for longer then 72 hours to a response to his first ticket, I would advise to post the ticketnumber in the sticky thread.
