Morning world

I have both guild wars and guild wars 2 – and i do have a merged nc soft account

I have a step daughter who I bought GW2 for some time ago – obviously I have access to her pc, account info etc

I have a son who I decided to treat today and bought guild wars 2 – set it up, installed it and set up his account – again I have full access to his pc and account (He is at school so does not even know about it yet)

I can log into the game for him so when he gets back home he can just go play and create a character.

So…

Remembering the fun I had with the original GW, I noticed i could buy the complete pack for both children for about 25 quid – awesome.

So i log into my ncsoft account – and it tells me that I got my security questions wrong (Like bullkitten – I know where i was born and which school i was at and so on…) so, i humoured it and used the catchup to get a code sent – and guess what – nope, not having that either… Hmmm so I logged into the game and – that works – same password btw….

OK…. so I have a day off, lets use the kids accounts and i will log on and do the purchase there….

So, log into my sons brand new account – as in through guildwars2.com – and then realised that the store there only deals with gw2 stuff – so go to ncsoft and… it won’t let me log in…. same bullkitten….

hmmmm maybe it is because the account is brand new

so I log into my daughters account

AND

YEP

same old squit

so lets start doing some digging – lets ring technical support….
there is no telephone number – apparently its quicker by email…. so i set up a couple of tech support tickets – one on my account, one on my sons account. (I left my daughters account alone – she has an iPhone and an attitude so would react to emails….)

now call me a bluff old traditionalist – but this super dooper service that is quicker than a telephone call… its bloody slow… have the hamsters in the wheels been sabotaged with horlicks or something?
Or is it just a time difference thing?
Or monday morning blues?
or do i need to use an ouiji board?

I wanted to buy stuff – but i rather fear that i am not going to be able to….

aladinsaneuk — first, thanks for being a good customer of our games and for being an awesome parent for your kids.

Second, have you gotten this sorted out? If not, add your ticket numbers to this ticket and I’ll see if we can help you. I’m sorry for the frustration and hope this is resolved or that we can get it resolved post haste!

well

seems that I missed something….

even though both children have guild wars 2, that does NOT mean they have an nc soft account….

so – waiting for the games to arrive – i managed to track down two full versions of the game on disk – and will then log into their nc soft accounts and add guild wars..

may I humbly suggest that it is put in big letters that you do not have an nc soft account, even if you do have a guild wars 2 account….

I’m glad this sorted out ok for you. The fact is, not that many GW2 players have an NC Account and an NC Account is not tied to Guild Wars 2 — they stand separately, even if Guild Wars (the original) was linked to the old NCMA (NCSOFT Master Account, then changed to NC Account). I see your point — people might want to know “Hey, if you have an NC Account that’s not how you get into GW2!” I will ask around and see if that’s something we can somehow add in the future.
