Unauthorized Access to Account

I am not sure if this is the right place to post this. About 50 minutes ago I received an e-mail from Arena Net that a person from China has attempted to authorize access to my playing account.

Luckily, Arena Net has swiftly reported it to me and I have changed my password.

Below is the IP by the accessor (Moderator, please remove if I infringe any rights)

Address: 60.166.252.17
City: Hefei
Region: 01
Country: CN

I hope that this information is useful for Arena Net and the other players to prevent any other occurances. I just wanted to remind everyone that there are people trying to access our accounts, so it is good to routinely change your password.

I am not sure how they obtained my password (not a shared account name/password with any forums/games… ) but I would be upset if I had lost my account!

Thanks.

I’m afraid that a popular game like Guild Wars 2 inevitably attracts a certain amount of “the bad element.” We are aware of the issue, and we take the measures that we can on our side to protect players, which is why you got that email.

I’m glad you found the email helpful and were able protect your account.
