Unable to verify GW2 executable.

So every time there is a patch and I run GW2.exe, it downloads a certain amount of data (10422kb this time) and then the kb/sec drops to 0 and I get the following error message.

“Unable to verify the Guild Wars 2 executable. Please try again. If the problem persists, uninstall and reinstall the application, or contact customer support.”

When I installed it I read some information about the game having problems if its installed into a folder other than the default. There was a work around that allowed me to install it into another folder and so I did, and coincidentally it is the same work around that lets me install patches. I have to delete the GW2.exe file and then rename the GW2.tmp file to GW2.exe. When I run the new EXE the game installs and runs fine. It is however an annoying process to go through EVERY time there is a patch. Is there a permanent fix to this problem?

Hi Rick – Since the issue has been resolved there isn’t much we can look into at the moment, however, if you experience this issue with the next patch I would recommend creating a technical support ticket so that we can look into this issue a little further.

I agree it does sound tedious to have to do that with every patch update and so we definitely want to figure out what’s going on there. The thread below should give you some more info in regards to contacting support:
