Unable to Upgrade Account

A friend of mine tried out the game using the free trial. We’re so much fun he went ahead and bought the game. The time comes for him to enter the serial and get busy, but he’s running into some issues and so he sent an e-mail to support:

Hello,

Trying to upgrade my account. I have a serial code: removed

But have no where to add it to my account.

I am unable to login to the game to add it in the Black Lion section, as when i launch the game it tells me to contact support as my serial is disabled

My friend is a bit peeved he cannot play the game, and is surprised by the lack of reaction on Anet’s part. The request ID of his ticket is: 9374715. Could anyone post additional information on how to upgrade trial accounts? Since the trial is over, he cannot log back in, or log in on the forums for support.

The serial code that he purchased has not been registered yet. He needs to go to https://register.guildwars2.com , click the “Link Account” link beneath the “Create New Account” button, enter the information for his trial account there along with the new serial code, then hit “Next” to continue the registration process. Just to clarify, the account that is receiving that error in the screenshot is not a trial account.
