On two separate occasions today I removed buy orders from the trading post and was not given back the gold I had placed for the orders. I have lost over 40 gold due to this issue.

Is your pick up tab full?
If you have more than 100 transactions uncollected, additional returns from the trading post will not be visible until you pick up the earlier transactions.
