So….

You don’t have to bribe us. We’re fixing a lot of bugs with ALL classes, and many of them are necro related. Also, some of the things you THINK are bugs are actually working, and other things are by design.

I just wanted to say that this was very cute and appreciated. I didn’t take it the wrong way when I saw the picture, I just lol’d at my desk after Evan (our PvP UI programmer) pointed it out to me.

TL:DR – We read the forums, we are working on bugs, and you do NOT have to bribe us. But it was cute.

Yes, we need to get better about explaining those things kKagari. But, as you say, time is limited.

All I can say is we’re going to be putting more effort into explaining more things to the players so that they know which things are working as intended, and which are genuine bugs.

I understand that can be frustrating, and please know that’s not our intention (to be purposefully abstruse and vague). Time, 9 times out of 10, is the limiting factor.

Three things. <———— Edit!

1) The cake arrived. Thank you.
2) I agree that minions being killed when you go into an elite form is not good. We’re going to find ways to fix it. It feels bad to lose your minions (utility skills) just because you use your elite. We did that change to fix skills being unslotted by going above/below water (which WAS a bug), but we’ll need to find a different way to fix it so that minions, if you just use your elite above water, remain.
3) Death shroud is still good, but not a panacea. We do not feel that, “Oh, it doesn’t matter, they have Death Shroud!” So please don’t think that.

I just can’t edit my post or quote…or…count…so….

But I like Jayshua’s answer…the cake is a lie, so it doesn’t count. I’m fine w/ that.

I have a question Jon. How likely is it that the DS/Life Force system could get a slight revamp towards true Life Force management, a.k.a. spending Life Force for attacks/utility, with some more interesting ways to gather Life Force. I know this would take quite a bit of work/time so I know it’s probably not realistic.

It could be a great way to balance our dmg vs. survivability, by essentially spending our survivability for gains in other areas. And could be much more satisfying, say dumping Life Force for a giant explosive Life Blast as opposed to slowly pumping out Life Blasts til you drain to 50%.

Oh also, Spectral Grasp and Dark Path, have you ever considered swapping them? Assuming the above, it could be balanced by costing a good chunk of LF and most of the time I don’t want to teleport into melee for a chill/3 bleed. =p

We actually tried that type of system before release and we found it wasn’t working out as well in our game. A lot of times it meant that you simply needed X resource before you even start playing your class. It didn’t feel fun. We went the same way with the Warrior: notice that you only have ONE skill you have to ‘fill up’ before you can use it. We wanted both classes (Necro and Warrior) to have access to the majority of their skills without having to build them up.

If they do need to build up, it’s for the F1.

Cheers,

~J

Also, the cake has spiders on it which are arachnids, not bugs! Just wanted to take my chance to nit pick back. Also just because we are in here doesn’t mean we are only doing Necro stuff as well in case any non-necros read this. I have changes and bug fixes for Mesmer, Warrior, Engineer, Thief, Guardian, Ranger, and Elementalist in my list already in testing as well.
