Suspension Policies-- Variance Treatment

Hello! About 12 hours ago I was suspended for 72 hours for an unacceptable name.

I’ve submitted a ticket to support, but after doing some research I’ve found some information that makes me want to understand the suspension policies and question my own suspension.

I do not want to copy/paste my support ticket here, simply that my account received a 72-hour suspension at about 6PM on September 8th, 2013, PST for an unacceptable name.

After reading the forums a lot (by the way, this is my first forum post, yay!) I want to copy/paste some website links here regarding other situations of suspension and/or use of unacceptable character names where the person in question received no suspension or they received a warning or specific reason why the were suspended (specific name, reason, etc.).

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/support/account/Unacceptable-name

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/support/account/72-hour-ban-for-name-without-warning

https://forum-en.guildwars2.com/forum/support/account/Account-suspended-with-no-warning

I also want to mention that I have noticed that you are not supposed to submit a ticket then post on the forums-- but I considered these two issue separate: having an unacceptable name and finding information regarding the actual policies and treatment for suspension-> unacceptable name usage.

Thanks,
Emerson

Yes, the account was suspended for an offensive name. And yes, the name was sufficiently offensive that it will remain censored. But first offenses should not result in a suspension and I am investigating why your account was suspended, when I can find no trace of a previous offense. I will be back in just a short time to answer this in more detail.

Our policy is clear, and is cited repeatedly in the forums. There was an error on your account and you will be reinstated in a couple of minutes. However, that would have been addressed through the ticket that you submitted.

So again I ask forum members: Please do not post a forum thread when you have submitted a ticket, but allow the team to answer before posting unnecessarily.
