Many ArenaNet employees have been “immortalized” in the game, either through NPCs, or regions, or even whole servers named after them. I think it would be fun to see a whole listing of these people & places, and have a COLLECTION achievement based upon finding them. For example:
- Picture 1 – You can always find Koljin Johansson (obviously named after Colin Johanson) wandering around Hoelbrak. Like the real guy, he always has lots to do, but he will stop for as long as you want and listen to what you have to say.
- Picture 2 – The Banker at Fort Marriner is named “Wheezy” Teicheira. This has got to be Evan Teicheira, listed as a Quality Assurance Lead in the game credits.
- Picture 3 – Eric Flannum was immortalized as Foreman Flannum at the dam in Queensdale. I found about 8 people named Justin in the game credits, and at least one Travis, who could be his fishermen buddies across the river.
- Picture 4 – Designer Jeff Grubb found his way into numerous areas of the game. (Okay, maybe I’m pushing it a little bit here.)
- Picture 5 – Our own Gaille Gray found fame as the most neutral color in everyone’s Dye collection. (Okay, okay. Now I’m really getting ridiculous. How could we talk with a dye to complete an achievement step? But some of the Collections are bugged right now anyway, so this wouldn’t be much different.)
I can see it now: Collection completion reward – the Title “Fan of the Arena”.
