Just purchased the game today and started downloading. Got to around 75k files left and the download speed dropped to 0. Would sometimes go back up to around 300 but then fall back. Tried running as admin, deleting files and reinstalling, nothings worked. Any ideas?

We’ve investigated this and it appears to be a real issue with DNS lookup for some Verizon customers. While editing your host file will work in the short term, it is very risky, as any of those addresses you just hardwired into your OS could change at any time. Even worse, if you’re like me, you’ll forget about editing the hosts file and be really confused in the future when patching stops working.
A better workaround would be to set your DNS provider to Google (https://developers.google.com/speed/public-dns/docs/using) as that fixes this problem and will continue working into the future.
