Streamers in ArenaNet?

Just wondering why Anet has never given support to any streamers? I’ve seen a few potential streamers who have been streaming since release, but 2 of my most watched streamers have since quit GW2 because they haven’t seen Arenanet give support to a single streamer. I feel like if they give support to a streamer or two it could help with publicity and popularity of the game, especially for PVP. Koroshi was one of them, but he moved on and is waiting for Wildstar. I just remember the glory days of the Guild Wars 1 and the pvp scene there was booming, but it’s so nonexistent here. Need GvG soon imo

On the contrary, we support streamers by regularly promoting them on our Facebook page (which has nearly 1M followers) and on Twitter (which has over 228k followers), as well as listing them on our official Twitch TV channel (which has almost 16k subscribers). We give streamers a lot of publicity and recognition, and we’re always looking for new ones to check out.

We also have regularly asked our community for recommendations of streamers they like.

If you have a recommendation, please share. We would love to take a look.

Also: what do you define as “support”?

We drive thousands of viewers every week to our Twitch channel because we host weekly developer livestreams there. Our channel has a rotating list of great community streamers, which you can find here: http://www.twitch.tv/guildwars2 Likewise, thousands of people see our posts on Facebook and Twitter, so that information reaches a big potential audience for those streamers as well—an audience that doesn’t necessarily read the forums.

There’ve been several suggestions of maintaining a forum post highlighting community streamers. I’ve discussed this with the team, and they like the idea, so here you go. This post will be updated when possible. Note that this list is not intended to be exhaustive, it’s a curated list of community streamers we want to highlight.

Again, we’re open to your suggestions for streams to check out! You can post your suggestions in this thread. Note that simply suggesting a streamer won’t guarantee that we will promote them, but we will review them. We’re looking for good quality streams that have a regular schedule (ideally a published schedule) and abide by good community standards.

Thanks, everyone!
