Still having connection issues

I don’t want this to be lost in the previous thread where the person’s issues were fixed. mine are not.
After last nights patch I have been unable to even attempt to log in. It launches and begins like it is going to start downloading than
Connection error(s) detected. Retrying….

No error code, nothing else. Just the same message over and over. Nothing has changed on my end and this issue has only popped up since the patch yesterday. Would really like to be able to login

Hi durpdurp,

Do you happen to have any security software enabled? This tends to happen a lot after a patch and is pretty common in a number of different games. When you put in an ‘allow’ rule for ‘Gw2.exe’, your security software pays attention to the version / size of those files. So when you patch, and the game files change, your ‘allow’ rules are no longer valid. You would have to remove any firewall/AV rules for both Gw2.exe and re-add them after each patch.
