So I got banned for three days for use of 'racial slurs'

“While playing Guild Wars 2, you must respect the rights of others and their rights to play and enjoy the Game. To this end, you may not defraud, harass, threaten, embarrass or cause distress and/or unwanted attention to other players. This includes posting insulting, offensive, or abusive comments about players, repeatedly sending unwanted messages, reporting players maliciously, attacking a player based on race, sexual orientation, religion, heritage, etc. Hate speech is not tolerated”

I didn’t receive an email of chat logs or anything about it – I really don’t think I deserve a three-day ban for whatever incident I was reported for. I definitely did not attack a player based on their race. Saying the ‘N’ word does not mean I’m racist and I never said it in a offensive way towards another player?

Basically I think I got banned for saying the ‘N’ word in a non-offensive way, indirectly and someone thought they might like to report me. Do I really deserve a three-day ban?

This isn’t about censorship, about reducing one’s “right to free speech” (which is moot in this context), or about catering to a specific group of people who object to anything more caustic than “darn.” This is about keeping the game pleasant for the majority of our players, who come from every continent and from various cultures, ethnic groups, ages, races, and genders.

It is our right to keep the game pleasant. Most would agree it’s also the right thing to do.
