I have been attempting to aid my girlfriend’s father get back his account because he cannot post or do anything since they changed his e-mail address. I PAID FOR the game for him and I was the one who setup his account. I can provide all my billing information and details to support, but what is the response I get back after 5 days?

“While I can understand and respect your want to assist your friend with their account, this simply cannot be done as this is not your account, and a grave security risk. Your friend would need to contact us directly with their account information on their account in order to get his account back.”

Thank you again,

As stated I paid for and setup his account so why can I not resolve this for him?

I really do not understand why he has to deal with this. He is up there in age and he doesn’t need the stress with his health conditions. I told him I would handle it because of that fact. If i can provide all the information, why can’t I get his account back for him especially since i paid for it?

Would you like it if someone could randomly call on your behalf and make changes without your permission? That is a pretty standard security measure.

Thank you for understanding. For your security, we want to work with you in resolving issues on your account. No one is precluded from getting help through support.guildwars2.com. You are not required to have a support account (or even a game account) to submit a ticket.
