Serial Number and Password

This is the most rediculous amount of hoop jumping I have ever seen.

First: Once a password is used, it can never be used by ANYONE ELSE IN THE ENTIRE GAME. Really?! DOD doesnt even do that to its users, and the only thing this does is force people to create passwords that they forget.

Second: Forgot password function requires the serial number. Come on… So the email to my mate’s account with the serial number seems to be non-existent. So the forgot password function is useless. How about doing what EVERY OTHER SYSTEM SEEMS TO DO INCLUDING BANKS! Have a series of security questions that can be used to verify a person before emailing them with a way to change their password?

Third: Ok, so we forgot our serial number… so she emails support to ask for help. Who then asks her for her serial number. a couple tickets later theyre finally convinced that she doesnt have her serial number and asks for other information on her account to verify it. So we reply with the correct information.

The reply: “Please go to this webform and fill out a support request” Which generated a whole new ticket and started a whole new thread. WTF were we talking to?!?!? Why did I contact support, spend a week or two in emails to get her account fixed, only to be told to go to a webform to start A WHOLE NEW TICKET!!!!!

So this completely worthless display of activity still has her locked out of her account, and hackers are still defeating your systems. Thanks for being no help, I guess this is what I get for playing a game that doesnt cost anything to play. Time to go back to WOW or SWTOR where I can at least recover a password is a couple of steps.

If you were writing in on behalf of someone else, that’s why a new ticket was created. After expressing what was needed, we then needed to hear from the actual account owner.
