Question regarding infraction appeals.

Hi i have a question regarding an infraction i recently got (my 1st), i didn’t agree with the infraction and as such appealed it. The reason for the infraction is below.

“Please refrain from making posts that do not provide any meaningful contribution to the topic at hand.”

The thing was it was meaningful to the thread at hand when i posted it as a few posts before mine had insults in them (directed at me and others) and my post was a nice polite simple request to not insult people because they had a different opinions and that i would really like to keep insults out of my thread (it was a thread i had actully started).

The problem is a moderator removed the posts which had the insults in them and then my post made no sense (it would have looked pretty random), and as such would appear to have no meaningful contribution – i’m guessing this is the reason for the infraction.

As such i followed the system to appeal it, however it states you may not always get a response. So my question is, how do i know if the infraction was removed or not?.

I know some may say “it’s not that big an issue”, but for me it is.

Moderators can see ALL posts, even those that appear removed to members. So I don’t think they were unaware of the full content of the thread.

I can’t address forum issues, but you can write [email protected] and discuss the matter with the moderation team. But do be aware it’s unlikely that your account has any actual infraction on it, it’s more likely that you were given a warning, which does not have any lasting consequences.

You got a suspension NOT for simply asking a question, that’s completely inaccurate. We do not suspend on a first offense and never for a benign question. The suspension system “kicks in” only after multiple infractions. If you have a lot of posts that need to be removed, that will accrue until such time as you get suspended.
