Problem with the graphics.

Just let me start by saying I’m fairly certain it’s not a hardware problem. I can run any other game fine on any settings(albeit with extremely low FPS on higher settings) but I have no graphical glitches. I also had this problem before and a complete reinstall had fixed it.

Anyways, I’m getting these( http://imgur.com/a/jSpOF ) problems. At some angles there isn’t too much of a problem, but in other camera positions it’s just unplayable(Somehow managed to not get any screens of that though). You also can’t see it too well in the screenshots where the terrain and mobs have groups of pixels which actually look like they’re a bit higher-quality than the rest of them.

It’s also not zone or character dependant since it happens on all of my characters regardless of what zone they’re in. I never had this problem back when the game first came out and I played nonstop to level 80 on my main, and I didn’t have this problem a couple of weeks ago either. I have all of my settings set to the lowest possible, but it doesn’t help when I change them around to higher settings either.

Even when I make sure nothing else is running and I’ve still got CPU and RAM to spare, it does this. Restart the laptop, doesn’t help. Reinstall the drivers(after making sure they’re updated), nope.

So, it would be really appreciated if anybody could help me since I actually really want to get back into playing GW2 with everything new that’s been added<3

EDIT: Also wanted to mention I have searched the forum, youtube, google, and the subreddit for similar problems but nobody else seems to have the same sort of graphical problems I’m getting.

Hi Omg A Hotpocket – You may want to try a clean installation of your graphics card drivers and updating your DirectX as well.

The first link will provide you with the June 2010 redistributable which will force Windows to update Direct X. I provided this link below:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=8109 (download and run this first)

Once installed, please use the following link to install all material post June 2010 for Direct X. Again this link is provided below:

http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=35 (download and run this 2nd)

Hope this helps!
