So recently, like a week ago, I started to get very weird hiccup latency lags from the game. Like it could be running perfectly fine and suddenly there’s a connection issue for 3-5 seconds and then it comes back on. In worst case scenarios, it lasts longer than that and I get disconnected. I don’t have any latency or lag issues with anything else, just Guild Wars 2 atm.
So to the main issue, I’ve noticed that everytime I run Guild Wars 2, I get tons of queries from the game on port: 49783. These are all from random IPs and they only appear when Guild Wars 2 is started so I’m positive it’s coming from there.
My Firewall is currently blocking every attempt to port 49783 and since it’s random IPs, I don’t really want to risk opening the port. But it only happens when Guild Wars 2 is started. So mainly, I want to be sure it’s safe to open. I did some google on the port number, but I didn’t understand it much and mainly I didn’t understand if it’s a vulnerable or exploitable port. Which is why I’m asking for help here.
I’ve included a screenshot of my firewall blocking all the attempts to that port if that’s of any use. (There’s much more than that, I just took a portion of it, it goes on constantly when Guild Wars 2 is running).
