Simple quality of life improvement. Please remove autocamera/camera reset on spectator mode or make it a toggle option (on is keeping how it is now, off is leaving the camera in an angle where you left it). Releasing right mousebutton for < 1 second causes the camera to go back to the motion sickness inducing autocamera which can really drive me crazy sometimes.

You should be able to use Free-Camera to prevent snapping. If not, then there is probably a bug.

As Evan mentioned, make sure “Use Free Camera” is enabled. Then, if you use left click to pan the camera it will keep the same viewing angle. Using right click will cause it to snap back to its original follow position.
