Necro stuck in Orr

6 days ago I tried to use a waypoint to Mount Maelstrom, at the time it was not contested but I got waypointed to a different location because it got contested, seconds later the game froze and I got the fatal error 1117 (read error on gw2.dat file). From that point on, I could log into my game client but everytime I choose a character the game would freeze my pc. Tried a lot of things, nothing worked. Downloaded and installed the whole game again and everything was fine. Today, almost same thing happened again. I tried to use a waypoint in Orr on my necro. It was not contested at the time, got the same massage thet the wp got contested so I was moved to another wp. So the game froze again but haven’t been getting any error massages. Now, I’m able to log in with my other 4 characters, the game works fine, but when I try my necro, the game freezes at the loading screen after 30 secs.

Hey there,

I would like you to try a command line argument we have seen resolve this type of issue.

Please go to your shortcut for Guild Wars 2 and right click it and choose properties.

In the line that says Target, add a space at the end of whats there and then -prefreset

It should look something like this: “C:\Games\Guild Wars 2\Gw2.exe” -prefreset

Click apply and then ok.

Once the above is done, try launching the game and logging into the character you are having issues with. If this resolves the issue, go back into your shortcut again and remove the -prefreset line.
