Ok so Ive had my account since the preorder 3 day head start. I played Guild Wars up untill the 19th borderlands 2 came out so I set gw2 aside so 10 days pass my roommate comes into my room and asks me if im playing gw2 i tell him no? im playing with another friend in bl2, going back through my email after contacting support and nail biting to get my account back. i find that on the 21st i had an email change on my account that email was sent on the 21st but i never saw it. my account was not email secured because in the first week or so the email verification never worked and never got a notification that email verification worked. so I looked around on it the night i got it back saw i was 20 levels higher and had 115 Black lion chests. i try logging into today and i find that my account has been terminated due to more then likely botting by the hacker so Im extremely ticked off with arena net because me the legitimate player was banned because of some goldfarmer now here is the bull crap thing is that they banned after it was recovered with a support ticket history that the account was just recovered from being hacked so the stupidity of this is astronomical. I have contacted support with this issue.

I am sure you are not suggesting that we not lock down accounts when it’s obvious they’ve been hacked. And I’m equally sure you wouldn’t suggest that we not block hackers. The reason you have the two-step process is that sometimes the report that results in the account block comes after the reinstatement of the account to the rightful owner.

We apologize for those cases and will try to work harder to align the reinstatement and the removal of the ban. But in the long run, a short-term inconvenience with the block, or with our asking you to establish your ownership, is far better than leaving the account in a vulnerable state.

I’ve checked into this incident and discovered that it was actually an oversight on my own part that led to your account being terminated after it was successfully reinstated. We will be taking measures to ensure that this does not happen in the future to other accounts.

My profuse apologies for the inconvenience, and thank you for bringing this to our attention!

I’m showing that the account has been reinstated as of 10/05/2012 16:32 GMT (so basically, a few minutes ago). Please let us know if you have any more trouble getting back in!

Thanks for stepping up to the plate, Mike.

Glad you’re ok, IronBlueFox!
