Moved from one Orders story to another

I am doing my Personal Story with one of my friends. He has decided to join the Order of Whispers where as I have joined up with the Vigil. We had both reached the mission “The battle of Claw Island” which I then did with my friend first. After the mission had ended and returned me and my friend to Lion’s Arch, it asked if i wanted to continue with the progress which we just did which I declined. I was then able to do my story mission equivalent (with the Vigil).

Now my next mission has been put into the Order of Whispers storyline. I had accidentally accepted progress before with my friend which put me onto the Order of Whispers storyline for Chapter 4 but looking of the forums, I followed advice to finish that chapter and i would be set back onto the order I was originally part of. When i hit Chapter 5, I was back on the Vigils storyline. I have submitted a bug report as that appeared to be the best place I could find in game.

I am wondering if there is any way of changing back to the Vigil without continuing with the chapter?

Short answer: no, we have no way of changing your storyline. Sorry!

It doesn’t change your order—just your storyline.

The story splits at different points for various reasons that aren’t necessarily related to your Order. For example, in Chapter 1 human commoners can choose whether to save an orphanage or a hospital. That’s why the warning is fairly generic—it warns you that you’re accepting any choices made by the other player, and what your next story step will be. There’s no way for it to know what your choice might have been, since the next story step might be based on a choice made in this or another story step, the player’s Order, etc. It simply knows what the story owner’s next step is, and if you accept progress, that will also be your next step. (To keep you playing together.)
