I would like to properly announce minigame days to the GW2 community. I will be holding these every Friday (and possibly some Tuesdays as well) as a sort of relaxed and fun day in the community. In the coming weeks I will be adding prizes and maybe even some surprise visits from devs as well :O But lets talk about what it is!
What are Minigame Days?
I see a lot of people yearning for new game modes, so I (along with some loyal people in my stream chat) decided to invent some! It’s all in good fun, and Every Friday (and sometimes Tuesdays) we will play a variety of mini games on stream including…..
Hide and Seek
- Red team must strip themselves of their armor
- Blue team must equip melee weapons and utilities and switch off their nameplates (uncheck the 2nd, 3rd, and 4th check boxes on the first option pane)
- The admin (me) will start the round in map chat and the red team (hiders) will have 40s to hide themselves
- After the 40s, the Blue team will be released and they will have 1 min for each hider to locate and kill all of the members of the red team.
- For each kill the Blue team gets they will get 30s of bonus time (this only applies if there are 5 or less hiders)
- If the time expires and at least one member of the red team is still alive, then they win!
Escort (played exclusively on Foefire)
- Once the teams are arranged, each player will pick one player to be their “VIP”
- The object of the game is to get your team’s VIP from your lord platform to the enemy team’s lord platform and then back again
- the VIP cannot stealth or gain the stealth buff, or use any form of teleportation, and the VIP MUST be walking the entire time (weapon leaps are allowed)
- If played in 3v3 or 2v2, the VIP must follow the specific path directly through the middle of the map (it will be illustrated on stream), for any larger skirmishes this rule may be ignored
- If the VIP dies, he must restart the process all over again.
- If 10 minutes passes with no clear victory, VIPs will be allowed to move normally
Zombie Mode
- Everyone starts out on the Blue team, and then the admin will pick 2 (or more depending on how many people fit on the blue team) random people to be the zombies for the first round
- The zombies will be fully equipped, but the humans (blue team) must take off their weapons.
- Humans may use their utilities and their utilities (6-10) ONLY!!
- Humans may not use stealth, but beyond that anything goes for utilities
- Humans may not intentionally kill zombies (Engineers with Bombs and Grenades especially)
- Once the zombies have killed a human, he/she must switch to the red (zombie) team
- If there are no spots left on the zombie team, the eliminated human must simply say “IM OUT!” in map chat, and then wait in the spawn until the next round
- The winner is the last human left alive. He/she will pick one (or more pending on the amount of players) partner(s) to be the zombies for the next round
