Bugs

01. Illusionary Warden

  • Targetting
    • Warden refuses to attack when summoned or sometime after.
    • Reference: VIDEO / VIDEO / VIDEO
    • Runs after a target and follows but still refuses to attack
    • Spawns next to the target but runs off to a completely different target and aggroes it.
    • Reference: VIDEO
  • Projectile Blocking/Reflecting
    • The Warden will continue reflecting projectiles for about 1 or 2 seconds after the whirl animation is done.
    • When untraited, the Warden will block projectiles that otherwise would be considered unreflectable.
    • When traited, quite often Warden will actually block projectiles instead of reflecting them. The reflection animation may happen but no actual damage is dealt back.
    • Reference: VIDEO

02. Illusionary Leap / Swap

  • The clone will not reach the target in one attempt and in many cases it will stop mid-way. Usually caused by any slightest tilt or bump in terrain, but can happen anywhere. As a result, the Cripple does not get applied to the target and the skill is rendered unreliable overall.
  • Reference: VIDEO
  • Leap skill may execute but fail to generate a clone even though the range indicator is showing it as “in range” (see #7).
  • Swap skill may fail completely. On some terrains it will only port clone closer to you and leave you untouched altogether.

03. Teleport skills render you useless

  • Sometimes when using a teleport skills (phase retreat, blink, etc), especially right after being knocked down or launched, will permanently root (cannot move or dodge) you until you use an emote such as /dance.
  • Sometimes using these teleport skills will get you stuck inside a wall, rock mesh, or some other terrain geometry in the vicinity, also rendering you pretty much helpless.
  • Reference: VIDEO

04. Blink

  • The skill will not blink you to the targeted spot, even if you have direct walkable path to the said target.
  • Possibly caused by uneven terrain and anti-exploit mechanics paired with lazy blocking volume placement on maps. However, this behaviour is extremely inconsistent: you may be able to blink over stairs and fences in Lion’s Arch but then fail to move forward through a presumably flat surface.

05. Mind Spike without boons

  • In combat the skill deals 10% less damage than what tooltip claims.

06. Temporal Curtain

  • If skill is clicked right after a weapon-swap, the curtain field will be placed at the location where the character was during the weapon swap and not where your mouse was actually pointing.
  • Reference: VIDEO

07. Targeted Skills may fail even though indicator says you’re in range

  • If your target is out of the skill range, there is a small distance where the skill will still be usable. If you use the skill in the said “bugged” range the skill will fail and display “Out of range” message on the screen. Usually that range is about 20 inches past the skills max range specified in the tooltip.

I might take the under for a day, until we discover the new bugs.

It’s probably too optimistic to think the feature patch will actually address any of these, though.

On the contrary! I talked to one of our developers, and there are a lot of Mesmer bug fixes that will be deployed with the Feature Pack. I do not have the full list yet, keep an eye out for the update notes once the Feature Pack goes live.
